Install Your PLAATO Pro

This guide explains how to prepare and install your PLAATO Pro.

Before installation, make sure your device is clean and ready for use. For full cleaning instructions and chemical compatibility, please refer to our dedicated cleaning guide here.

Important Handling Information

  • Only the stem of your PLAATO Pro can be submerged in liquid.

  • The black casing is waterproof but must not be submerged.

  • Always keep the lid firmly secured.

  • Use a damp cloth to clean the casing when needed.

Installing Your PLAATO Pro 🛠️

Using a Tri-Clamp

  • Each PLAATO Pro is fitted with a standard 1.5" Tri-Clamp, making it compatible with most fermentation tanks.

  • The inner diameter of the available port on your fermenter must be at least 23 mm (0.9").

  • We recommend using a 1.5” Tri-Clamp port to mount your device.

Mounting the Device

To ensure accurate readings:

  • Position the tines correctly so sediment and bubbles can pass freely.

  • Align the built-in spirit level so the bubble is centered.

  • Fasten and securely clamp the PLAATO Pro into place.

  • The stem should ideally be fully immersed in the liquid inside the tank.

If You Do Not Have a Spare Tri-Clamp Port

Use an Adapter

  • Adapters are available between most sanitary standards. DIN11851 adapters are commonly used between European and US Tri-Clamp systems.

Weld on a Tri-Clamp

  • If possible, installing a dedicated port is recommended.

Spare Port Alternatives

  • If you have a temperature probe, you can replace it with your Plaato Pro as the Plaato Pro will also measure temperature!

  • Use a T-Connector.
