PLAATO Pro Fermentation Data
A Guide to Understanding and Using Your Data
- Higher density → Lower vibration frequency
- Lower density → Higher vibration frequency
- Specific Gravity (SG)
- Degrees Plato (°P)
💡 PLAATO Pro takes measurements hourly and sends the data directly to your app.
Below is a guide to understanding each data unit 👇🏼
Temperature
Fermentation temperature significantly impacts the final taste, clarity, strength, and aroma of your brew. Monitoring temperature is therefore essential.
In the PLAATO Pro App, temperature is displayed in °F or °C.
To change units:
Account → Preferences → Units
Density (Specific Gravity / Plato)
Density, also called Specific Gravity (SG) or Degrees Plato (°P) measures how dense your brew is compared to water. It indicates the level of alcohol conversion in your brew every time the Plaato Pro does a reading.
Frequency (Hz)
The tines inside your PLAATO Pro vibrate proportionally to the density of your brew.
-
High vibration frequency → Low density
-
Low vibration frequency → High density
In your app you are able to follow density levels closely to ensure the brew is fermenting by recipe standard.
💡 Frequency is measured in Hertz (Hz).
Battery Level & WiFi Strength
In the PLAATO Pro App, you can view Battery Level and WiFi Strength graphs under each device’s Device Details section.
This will help you avoid situations where you run out of battery life 🔋, and to keep track of WiFi strength 📶 when brewing.
Cloud & Battery Status
The battery level and cloud connection status of each Plaato Pro device is displayed like below👇🏼

This allows you to quickly confirm that your device is powered and actively syncing data.👍
