My PLAATO Pro Was Online but Now Won’t Connect
What to Do if Your PLAATO Pro Was Online Before but Now Won’t Reconnect
There can be several reasons why your PLAATO Pro is no longer connecting. WiFi dropouts, network changes, or the PLAATO Connect being unplugged can all cause disconnection.
Not to worry! This guide will walk you through the steps to identify the issue and get reconnected. 🚀
Please follow the steps below carefully.
1. The PLAATO Connect Is Not Connected 🔌
Sometimes the PLAATO Connect becomes disconnected by accident. For example, if someone needed the network port for another device.
a) Double-check that your PLAATO Connect is plugged into power.
b) Make sure the PLAATO Connect is properly connected to your router.
The ethernet cable should be plugged into the WAN port on the PLAATO Connect and into a LAN port on your WiFi router.
c) Check that three LEDs are illuminated.
Three lights mean the PLAATO Connect is successfully connected to the internet.
Open the app and go to Connect:
-
If you see heartbeats from the last few minutes, the Connect is online.
-
If you do not see heartbeats immediately, wait 2 minutes and refresh the page.
2. Battery Check 🔋
Ensure there is enough battery power for the Pro to turn on and connect.
a) Unscrew the lid and remove the battery pack.
b) Check that the batteries are fresh and correctly inserted.
c) Reinsert the battery pack and switch the device On.
d) The LEDs should light up, indicating there is enough battery power.
e) If the Pro does not light up, try a new set of batteries to confirm.
f) If the Pro still does not turn on after changing the batteries, click here.
3. Change of WiFi Network 📡
Have you recently changed your internet provider or had work done on your IT systems? New systems may introduce updated firewalls, security settings, or IP addresses.
a) Check that the PLAATO Connect is connected.
If it shows three lights and heartbeats in the app, it is connected to the internet. Click here to find out why your Pros are not connecting even though your Connect is online.
b) If the PLAATO Connect shows only two lights (left and right), this means the internet connection from the router has been lost.
c) Check with your IT team to confirm whether security settings have changed. Access to specific ports is required. Click here to verify which ports must be open for IoT communication.
d) Check whether the IP address has changed. If it has, ask your IT team to reconfigure the network or click here for further instructions.
