The PLAATO Connect broadcasts the WiFi network that the PLAATO Pro connects to. It enables the PLAATO Pro to transmit data to the cloud over WiFi.
💡For everything to work properly, the PLAATO Connect and PLAATO Pro must have a strong and stable signal between them. If the signal is weak, you may see delayed updates or missing data.
Below are the most important things that affect your WiFi coverage.
If the PLAATO Connect is placed far from the PLAATO Pro, it becomes harder for them to communicate and transmit data effectively. This can cause slow updates or lost data.
Tip:
Keep the PLAATO Connect as close as possible to the PLAATO Pro. If possible, place them in the same room.
2. Obstacles
Objects between the devices can block or weaken the signal.
Things that can reduce the signal:
- Walls
- Large fermentation tanks
- Metal equipment
- Machinery
- Metal blocks signals more than wood or drywall.
The more objects between the devices, the weaker the connection can become.
How to Improve the Connection
Move it closer
If the connection is weak, try moving the PLAATO Connect closer to the PLAATO Pro.
If you have many tanks in a large area, you may need a WiFi extender. If you’re unsure, contact support@plaato.io for help.
Elevate
Putting the PLAATO Connect higher up (for example on a wall or shelf) can improve the signal.

Keep a clear path
Try to keep a clear space between the PLAATO Connect and PLAATO Pro. Fewer objects in the way means a stronger and more stable connection.
